Local musician Davy Knowles has been appointed as a cultural ambassador to mark Island of Culture 2014.
Billed as the largest celebration of culture in the history of the Island the event will be spread over the year celebrating the Island’s large and varied artistic and cultural life.Castle Rushen High School student Davy has steadily forged a successful music career in the United States - renowned for his distinct voice and unparalleled guitar abilities.
He has had a number two album on the Billboard Blues Album Charts on two occasions.
He is planning to work on a project for Island of Culture which will incorporate Manx music.
Dancer Lloyd Mayor and principal trumpet with the London Philharmonic Jason Evans are also taking on the role.
