The government is urging people not to bring exotic pets to the Island without a permit.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says its to help protect the biodiversity on the Island and prevent the illegal wildlife trade.
They say tortoises, snakes, most parrots, European eels and various plants are examples of animals and wildlife that would need a permit to be brought to the Island.
DEFA says if you have any concerns or require more information about pets you can contact their Ecosystem Policy Team on 685835.
