The delay to an increase in minimum wage will be 'very concerning to the lowest paid workers' on the Island.
That's according to the Manx Labour Party following the announcement that the Minimum Wage Committee is unable to recommend an increase before April.
It adds that it understands the committee's responsibility to consider the social and economic impact of an increase, but the request for additional time should have been predicted and not left until now.
The Party is calling for the implementation of a Living Wage to be brought forward to 2024 as people continue to rely on Social Security to meet their basic needs.
