DHSC didn't mislead Ranson tribunal, says report

A review into the Rosalind Ranson employment tribunal says the Department of Health and Social Care didn't deliberately withhold documents.

Richard Wright KC carried out an investigation into the high-profile case after Dr Ranson won £3.2 million in the tribunal, which found she was unfairly dismissed for whistleblowing about the government's handling of the pandemic.

In his report, published today, he says chief executive Kathryn Magson had a clear conflict of interest instructing the Attorney General's Chambers and appearing as a main witness in the case.

But he adds appeals later brought by the department were properly brought in good faith.

The report is due to be considered by Tynwald - you can read it here.
