Braddan Bridge is set to be resurfaced during phased works throughout January.
The Department of Infrastructure will work on the Peel to Douglas route from the junction with Braddan Road to Saddle Road, and include the Jubilee Oak roundabout.
From January 10 to 31, the road will be one way during the week, with those wishing to head west to Peel, Braddan and Noble's Hospital from Quarterbridge diverted to Saddle Road.
During the weekends throughout this period, the whole of Braddan Bridge will be closed.
The DOI says the approach taken will see the impact on hospital service users, commuters, school buses and businesses mitigated as much as possible.
