A late night dog walk has cost a Ballasalla man his driving licence after he was found to be almost twice over the drink drive limit.
63-year-old William Cubbon was stopped by police on foot patrol in the Ronaldsway Industrial Estate at around 11.30pm on July 26th.
The court heard how he had consumed around five drinks in the day before going to bed - however being unable to sleep he took the decision to drive and walk his dogs.
The officers stopped Mr Cubbon after finding his vehicle insecure; they smelt alcohol and ordered him to do a roadside breath test which he failed.
Giving him credit for his early guilty plea Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes disqualified him from driving for two years.
He was also ordered to pay £1,025 in costs.
