New equipment to test emissions levels on Island vehicles is hoped to be introduced in the next year.
That's according to Infrastructure Minister, Ray Harmer MHK, in the House of Keys earlier this week.
Mr Harmer also added whilst full calibrated tests are not currently a requirement, he insisted his department is intent on introducing higher standards of testing.
His comments came in response to a query from Middle MHK, Bill Shimmins, who'd asked what equipment is used by the vehicle test centre to check for emissions levels.
