The government says it's looking at more flexible ways to pay Island road tax.
The statement from the Department of Infrastructure comes after an online petition was launched this week demanding there should be alternatives to the current system of paying a full lump sum each year.
Officials say the department is 'actively pursuing' ways forward on the matter - adding it looks forward to publicising any details once they've been finalised.
The online campaign - which has gathered over 2,500 signatures - claims many Manx residents find it difficult to pay the full amount up front.
