The Department of Infrastructure says it won't release details of talks with easyJet, because the information could prejudice discussions in future.
A Freedom of Information request asked for correspondence between the government and the company over its future at Ronaldsway Airport.
In its response, the department said the airline had been the subject of discussions in Tynwald last February.
But it said releasing more details could put the integrity of decision-making by the Council of Ministers at risk.
