A long-running dispute over a property in Douglas has ended with the council ordered to pay more than £12,000 to its owner.
Richard David Bellamy sued the local authority over a 2014 improvement notice ordering him to carry out work on Braddan Lodge on Quarterbridge Road.
He claimed because a council officer had decided to issue the notice instead of being voted on by councillors, the notice wasn't valid.
Deemster Morris found the improvement notice hadn't been issued correctly and ordered Douglas Borough Council to pay £12,000 as well as Mr Bellamy's costs in the case.
