Douglas Council has confirmed that a valuable piece of civic regalia that’s disappeared is that of the Mayoress.
The missing item was noticed earlier this month and after a full internal investigation the matter has now been handed over to the police.
At first the council wouldn’t announced who it belonged to but they’ve now told us that it is the Mayoress’ chain.
Anybody with information is asked to contact the police.
