
£20 worth of cannabis has cost a Douglas man hundreds of pounds in fines and court costs.
Ian Ronald Goldsmith of Empire Terrace in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 47 year old admitted possessing the class B drug on March 11 in Derby Square in Douglas.
Prosecutor Barry swain told the court police were called to an address on Derby Square at around 7pm on an unrelated matter.
Goldsmith was arrested and searched and found to have a small snapbag of drugs, which he told police was for his personal use.
Mrs Hughes fined him £250 and ordered him to pay £125 costs at the rate of £10 per week from his benefits.
