Douglas to sign Friendship Agreement with Dublin

Douglas Council says it'll ask councillors to formally approve a new friendship agreement with Ireland's capital city.

The agreement is described as less formal than twinning the two cities, and Dublin City Council unanimously approved the moves in September.

A framework for the agreement is now being worked on by the Irish local authority, concentrating on the UNESCO Biosphere, the city centre and visitor economy, net zero and culture and language.

Douglas Council says there'll be no additional costs to ratepayers if it formally approves the plans.
