New laws governing abortion have been published today - as the MHK behind them asks for comments from the public.
The draft Abortion Reform Bill was published for public consultation on the government's website this morning.
The proposed reforms would see women allowed abortions on request at up to 14 weeks pregnant, with later terminations under specific sets of circumstances.
The legislation's being brought forward by Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson, who won permission to introduce a private member's bill.
He says the law is very different to those in England and Wales, and would mean women wouldn't have to travel off the Island for the procedure.
