Drone flight during royal visit could land you a five-year sentence

Flying a drone in Douglas or Onchan on Wednesday could land you five years in prison or a fine of up to £10,000.

The Isle of Man Civil Aviation Authority has issued regulations banning drones within a mile and a half of Upper Dukes Road in Douglas between 8am and 6pm.

The restrictions apply to all drones, regardless of size or mass.

Police say they'll be actively watching the skies for drones as the Royal visit by Queen Camilla takes place.
