Drug and Alcohol roadshow hits Ramsey Grammar School

Organised by the Department of Education and Children\'s Drug and Alcohol Co-ordinator the event has proved popular and effective when taken to the other high schools

The Drug and Alcohol Roadshow has today visited Ramsey Grammar School to educate the younger pupils on the perils of drink and substance abuse, and the associated issues.

Organised by the Department of Education and Children's Drug and Alcohol Co-ordinator, the event has proved popular and effective when taken to the other high schools.

It was targeting the year 7, 8 and 9 pupils with the agencies that work toward the Chief Minister’s drug and alcohol strategy promoting their work through their stalls.

The prison's sniffer dog was also there with his handlers demonstrating their drug detection methods.

We spoke to the Young Person’s Specialist in the Drug and Alcohol team, David Mclean – he told us they’re getting the message across using focused education.
