Eight questions in Keys today

The House of Keys looks set for a short sitting today, with just eight questions for oral answer and one for written reply on the agenda.

There'll be no new laws under discussion when MHKs gather this morning.

The first subject under the spotlight will be rural broadband and telephone links, when Ayre and Michael MHK Tim Baker quizzes Chief Minister Howard Quayle about plans to improve services.

Treasury Minister Alf Cannan faces two questions from Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper - the first about a government spending review, and the second about tax holidays on land.

Onchan MHK Rob Callister will ask Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer if his department will recommend putting up public housing rents this year.

Meanwhile Onchan MHK Julie Edge has queries for the Treasury Minister and Policy and Reform Minister about government workers taken on via employment agencies in the UK.

There's just one question for written answer, from North Douglas MHK David Ashford.

He'll ask Health and social Care Minister Kate Beecroft for more details of a £1.1 million overspend by her department's catering services last year.
