An investigation into the deliberate attempt to rig the 2010 Douglas East by-election has cost police more than £11,000.
No overall figure has yet been made public for the total cost of the court case which ended this week and saw one man jailed.
Police say those involved used a highly organised system designed to fraudulently obtain proxy voting rights from people who lived in Douglas East in order to get chef Kevin Woodford elected.
It took the best part of two years for the case to come to trial – in that time police obtained 750 witness statements and more than 3,000 exhibits.
