Sarah’s Law was the campaign spearheaded by a UK newspaper that, if passed would have given parents controlled access to the Sex Offenders Register.
A facebook group has been set up with the intention of getting Sarah’s Law introduced on the Isle of Man.
Sarah’s Law was gives parents controlled access to the Sex Offenders Register.
It’s been discussed in the Isle of Man already, in October of last year it was decided that Government would not be pursuing it.
But already it’s gathering momentum again with nearly 2000 members in the group, all campaigning for its introduction.
It was Home Affairs Minister Adrian Earnshaw who confirmed his Department would not be pressing on with the Law last year.
He told 3FM that it was determined that it's introduction would not have been appropriate or proportionate to a small place like the Isle of Man.
He's urging the founding members of the group to contact his Department so they can have a proper discussion about the facts and finer details that it's introduction would entail.
