    Faltering economies blamed for poor air figures

    The faltering UK and European economies are being blamed for a drop in people travelling to and from the Isle of Man by air.

    Latest figures show just over 70,000 people passed through Ronaldsway last year – 5,000 fewer than in 2011.

    Of the 21 flight routes which serve the Island two thirds reported a drop in passengers with Luton and Birmingham showing big reductions.

    Brendan O’Friel, the chairman of the passenger watchdog TravelWatch, says it’s grim for everyone:
