    Father charged with manslaughter over fatal car crash

    The father of a schoolgirl killed in a car crash in October last year has been charged with her manslaughter.

    Raymond French appeared for the first time at Douglas Courthouse yesterday following the fatal collision on October 5th 2013. 
     
    The 45-year-old was driving the family's BMW when it hit a bus close to the Ballakaighan Corner near Castletown. 
     
    His 10-year-old daughter Alexis was killed - the Ballaugh man also faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious bodily harm to another man by dangerous driving. 
     
    Mr French, who is now in a wheelchair after the injuries he sustained, will next appear in court on December 16th. He has been bailed in the meantime.
