    Fines issued for tax and NI offences

    Eight islanders and seven companies have been fined for tax and national insurance offences.

    Two companies were fined a total of £1,600 for not paying Income Tax or National Insurance on time, while another two firms were handed fines worth £120 for failing to submit income tax returns.

    Two other companies that failed to submit employer's annual returns were fined a total of £1,450.

    Of the eight individuals, six didn't submit income tax returns, while two failed to submit accounts - they were fined a total of £4,260 in total.
