The Island's Fire and Rescue Service says being called out to repeated false alarm alerts could cost up to £1,580 a time.
A Freedom of Information request asked how much the service charges when automated alarms spark responses.
The service says it operates a "user pays" agreement for buildings which repeatedly see false alarms.
Depending on how often a year it's called to attend, it charges between £395 and £1,580 - although it says it never charges when it's called to real incidents.
