Fire service's advice for how to keep safe on Bonfire Night

The Island's Fire and Rescue service is giving advice on how to stay safe with fireworks on Bonfire night.

It's pointing out sparklers can burn at 2,000 degrees celsius, or 20 times hotter than boiling water - and so shouldn't be given to children under five.

You're also being advised to only buy legal fireworks with a CE or UKCA mark on the packaging, and dispose of them by soaking in water.

Bonfire safety tips include keeping a safe distance from buildings and being mindful of the wind direction.
