A food voucher scheme for children from low-income families has been approved by Tynwald.
It means those who normally qualify for free school meals will be given government support during the Christmas break.
It's set to affect around 2,000 Isle of Man pupils whose families will now be offered vouchers worth between £25 and £32
The move comes after Tynwald considered the plight of many, in the face of rising living costs and spiralling fuel prices.
The education minister welcomed the move while calling for the Manx government to consider a long-term solution.
The vouchers are expected to be sent through the post this week.
