Former HSCC members say experience with Lawrie Hooper affected their mental health

Former members of a committee at the centre of a bullying row say they situation could have been avoided if Health Minister Lawrie Hooper had been mature and professional.

Eight former members of the Health Services Consultative Committee says relationships with four previous ministers had been cordial - but Mr Hooper branded them liars in a speech to the House of Keys last October.

A report by an advocate later found Mr Hooper hadn't bullied them, but was critical of his dealings with members.

In an open letter, they say for some members the experience has adversely affected their mental health and most will not seek a public service role in the future.
