Former ministers win local election seats

Three former MHKs have been elected to local authorities around the Island.

In Peel, Ray Harmer was elected to the commissioners during yesterday's elections.

Former Minister Tony Brown was voted in by voters in Castletown.

Meanwhile, in Douglas David Cretney won a huge majority to be elected to win a seat in the council's Douglas South ward.

Turnout: 39 per cent
Elected: Tony Brown, John Cringle, William Galley, Alan Leonard, Mahendrakumar Patel, Carol Quine, Laurence Watterson

 

Douglas South:
Turnout: 25 per cent
Elected: Steven Crellin, David Cretney, Karel Ver Elst

 

Patrick:
Turnout: 28 per cent
Elected: Robert Anderson, Gordon Clague, Paul Craker, Leo Cussons, Simon Mellor 

 

Peel:
Turnout: 28 per cent
Elected: Katryna Baptist, Frank Crompton, Alistair Cubbon-Wood, Stuart Hardingham, Ray Harmer, Sharon Lambert, Christine Moughtin

 

Ramsey:
Turnout: 20 per cent
Elected: Emma Honey, Pauline Johns-Garrett, Juan McGuinness, Elizabeth Shimmin, Margaret Webb, Wilf Young
