Free period products would cost £90k in 1st year

The government providing free period products will cost around £90,000 in the first year.

That's according to Treasury Minister Alex Allinson, who faced questions about a planned new law from Onchan MHK Julie Edge during Tynwald this week.

Proposed laws would see schools and other government bodies like the college making the items freely available. 

He said it was difficult to predict the exact costs for both the products and the salary of a project coordinator:
