The Financial Services Authority has been told to reconsider its response to a Freedom of Information request after wrongly saying it included personal data.
The Island's information commissioner has released a decision after someone asked the FSA for its organisational chart, staff names, and maximum salaries.
In its response, the authority refused to name staff or give salaries, saying the information - including the chief executive's maximum salary - was personal data.
However, after a review the Information Commissioner says the personal data exemption was misapplied - the FSA must now reprocess the request and give a new response.
