    Funding boost for playground project

An Island charity has received a financial boost to support an adventure playground project for Island children for the next year.

Isle of Play's pilot scheme - known as 'Lester's Yard - has received a £25,000 cash injection from the Lanx Lottery Trust, which will help towards set up costs, equipment, staff costs and transportation

It'll be set up on land between Pulrose and Anagh Coar and allow kids to have an open space to build dens, use tools and grow and cook food under supervision from volunteers between 4pm and 6.30pm each evening.

Charity chief executive, Chris Gregory, is thanking the trust, Douglas Borough Council and Hills Ward Community Council for their support - saying every child deserves the chance to access great play areas in local communities.
