The future of Rowany Golf Club in Port Erin is in doubt.
Last week the committee informed staff and members that a decision has been taken to cease trading and wind up business operations.
Port Erin Commissioners have expressed sadness over the impending closure saying they have worked closely with the committee since last year to address issues.
During this time a number of plans and incentives have been discussed and offered to the club - the commissioners say this dialogue is still on-going.
They say they are committed to retaining a golf course within Port Erin and will provide every assistance to any organisation which wishes to do so.
