    GCSE results day today

    GCSE group taken at St Ninian’s today

    Almost 900 Island students will receive their GCSE exam results today.

    The results - a culmination of two years of study in year's 10 and 11 - will open doors to employment or further study at sixth form or the college. 
     
    Regulator Ofqual has already warned that there is likely to be a much greater than normal variation in the results due to students sitting linear rather than modular exams. 
     
    Students are being urged to attend school today to talk through their options. 
     
    Co-ordinating Adviser for 11-19 education Paul Craine says he anticipates the usual strong take up of sixth form:
