    General Election candidate charged with drink driving

    A General Election candidate has appeared at Douglas Courthouse today after being charged with drink driving. 

    63-year-old Nigel Dobson is accused of driving whilst over the prescribed limit on Groudle Road on September 2nd. 
     
    No pleas were entered - a three week adjournment was granted and the Onchan man will next appear in court on September 29th. 
     
    Mr Dobson - who has declared for the constituency of Garff - will go up against four other candidates on September 22nd; they are Andrew Barton, Daphne Caine, Martyn Perkins and Andrew Smith.
