Manx motorists are being urged to make sure their vehicles are ready for winter.
Officers say with the darker nights drawing in and the clocks going back at the end of the month - they'll start their annual Winter Vehicle Check Operations.
Road side checks will be carried out at various points across the Island.
Last year police stopped 220 vehicles - and more than half were found to have defects.
The constabulary has described it as a 'ridiculously high number' and is urging people to make sure their cars are safe.
