Google Street View Team Commence Work Today

Look Out For The Three Google Cars Operating From Today

The Google Street View cars will begin their work on the Isle of Man today.  

The cars arrived on the Island yesterday to embark on the work which is anticipated to take about a week.

Google Street View is essentially an add on to Google maps but with this you are able to zoom down to street level and look at high definition images of the area with a 360 degree viewing function.

The 3 cars will be dotted about the Island cataloguing the streets and capturing the images with the sophisticated camera equipment mounted on the roof.

According to the Department of Economic Development they are aiming to have the images processed and online in time for TT week, its hoped they will act as an effecting advert for the Island’s tourism.
