Government figures shows it's written off more than £2.5 million of debt over the last five years, not including outstanding tax.
A Freedom of Information request asked how much money owed to departments and other government bodies had been written off since 2020.
During that time, the Department of Infrastructure wrote off more than £949,000, with the Department for Enterprise writing off just over £686,500 and Manx Utilities dumping more than £345,000 of bad debt.
The Department of Education, Sport and Culture wrote off more than £327,000 worth of debt - including forgiven student loans under a teacher recruitment scheme.
