Government plans fact-checking service and more positive news opportunities

The government says it's planning to start fact-checking service as part of its communications strategy.

The Cabinet Office's departmental plan, published this week, says the rapid rebuttal and fact-checking - called Manx Verify - will be developed by the end of this month.

The plan says a scoping paper will look at how it will work and what resources will be needed.

The document also calls for a system to maximise opportunities for positive news from the government.
