The government has put out a warning about the risks of financial abuse.
The Isle of Man Safeguarding Board says on Facebook people need to look out for someone controlling and misusing someone else's money.
It also asks people to look out for cuckooing, where a vulnerable person's address is taken over for criminal purposes.
