    Government to measure broadband speeds

Chief Minister Howard Quayle says he's asked for a government department to take a closer look at broadband speeds in the Island's rural districts.

In the House of Keys yesterday, Mr Quayle faced a question from Ayre and Michael MHK Tim Baker about planned improvements.

Mr Quayle said many in rural areas don't think they're getting good-quality broadband - and a recent report by experts appears to support their concerns.

He's now asked the Department of Economic Development to start measuring and reporting broadband speeds in line with a similar initiative in the UK.
