Gov't issues warning to ketamine users after residents require medical attention

The government has issued a warning after more than half a dozen people on Island needed medical attention after suspected ketamine use.

It’s thought that the supply of the Class B drug is tainted, and any users are urged to avoid taking it.

The symptoms of a ketamine overdose are similar to what users experience as a high, and include dangerously slow breathing and unconsciousness.

If someone is experiencing overdose symptoms an ambulance must be called immediately.
