GP surgeries open during lockdown with changes

The government says all GP surgeries are open as usual during the current lockdown - but they're making changes to the way they work.

Appointments may be carried out over the phone, by video link or in person to ensure the safety of patients and staff.

The Department of Health and Social Care says it will make arrangements for patients to collect prescriptions and medicine if they can't collect it themselves.

It's also setting up dedicated assessment units for people who think they've caught Covid.
