With a cold snap firmly taking hold of the Isle of Man the public are being reminded to replenish their own salt reserves.
Large amounts of gritting salt are available from public amenity sites across, which can then be used to treat icy drive ways and paths.
The Department of Infrastructure has assured the public that they have excessive amounts of salt in their storing barns this year.
It's extra cautious after the harsh winter of 2009/2010 depleted their reserves to dangerous levels.
Alan Hardinge from the DOI says there is currently enough to tackle two winters:
