An Onchan man is awaiting sentencing after admitting exploiting the Island's benefit system by almost £40,000.
48-year-old Dale Jason Batty, of First Avenue, appeared at Douglas Courthouse on Thursday.
He pleaded guilty to six offences of making false representations to obtain benefits between September 2014 and June 2016.
The court heard the claim for benefits was fraudulent from the outset.
Batty was committed for sentence at the Court of General Gaol Delivery - bail was granted until his next appearance there on December 7th.
