Helicopter that crashed killing Leicester city owner, was Manx-owned

Investigators have made eight safety recommendations after a Manx-owned helicopter crashed, killing the owner of a Premiership football club.

The Leonardo AW169 crashed at Leicester City's King Power Stadium in October 2018, and the Air Accident Investigation Branch has published its findings in its latest monthly bulletin.

It says the aircraft, owned by Douglas-based Foxborough Ltd, came down after a tail rotor bearing seized shortly after takeoff.

Among the AAIB's recommendations are inspection programmes for critical parts, and checks for fatigue in bearings.
