Hop Tu Naa celebrations at Cregneash

    Herbal Charm Making

Manx Hop Tu Naa celebrations are taking place at Cregneash this weekend.

Manx National Heritage has been organising a week of festivities - Helen Ashcroft says they're tying new traditions with the old ones:

Hop Tu Naa is an old Celtic festival which predates Halloween - it was originally to celebrate the original New Year's Eve - it's thought to be the oldest unbroken tradition on the Isle of Man.

At Cregneash tomorrow there will be turnip carving, Manx music, arts and crafts, Manx fairytales and at 4pm a turnip lantern parade.
