Huge rise in babies needing hospital treatment for RSV

New figures show the number of babies admitted to hospital with respiratory viruses has trebled in just a year, according to Manx Care.

A freedom of information request asked how may babies had been admitted to hospital with infections such as bronchitis since 2022.

The figures show that year 14 babies were admitted, but a year later that rose to a staggering 47.

Since the start of this flu season in October, 15 babies have been taken in for treatment.
