IoM Police warn of Amazon scam

Have you been contacted by Amazon about a £1,000 shopping spree? If so, it's probably a scam.

The Island's Office of Cybersecurity and Information Assistance  (OCSIA) says it's received a number of tip-offs about a con doing the round on the Island.

The phone calls purport to be from the online retailer, and ask people to sort out difficulties surrounding a £1,000 purchase.

An OCSIA spokesman said people should end the call and ignore the scammers.
