The Isle of Man's booster vaccination programme is to be ramped up in response to Omicron.
From next week the Manx government's aiming to increase the daily target from 1,000 people a day to 1, 700.
It comes as twelve suspected cases of Omicron are detected on the island with the Chief Minister warning of a "difficult period ahead".
In Tynwald yesterday, Alfred Cannan said it's likely the island will see a rise in Omicron cases and a proportion of the population will become seriously ill.
The UK coronavirus alert level has been raised to four over concerns about the variant.
The Isle of Man government hopes to complete the majority of the booster programme by the end of January 2022.
