A huge operation will get underway across Island plantations this month to remove trees toppled by recent storms.
The process will see a large number of trees harvested from sites including South Barrule and Archallagan.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture admits it will have a visual impact on the landscape but replanting will begin soon.
The department is closing trails through the plantations while work is underway and is urging the public to respect the closures for safety.
