3FM have been hearing that the multi - award winning film The King's Speech was initially due to be made here on the Isle of Man.
The Island's film industry has been hitting the headlines recently as it was revealed that the Zac Efron film 'Me and Orson Welles' made a multi million pound loss.
Minister for Economic Development Allan Bell said 'not a penny' of Manx tax payers money has been lost.
He told 3FM that the Kings Speech was initially programmed to be made here. There was an agreement in principal to film it on the Island.
The Island was outbid by The Weinstein Company. It has gone on to be the top grossing film for that company.
